Abstract

Organizations that are overseeing a workforce that is swiftly changing have recognized that employee retention has become a critical strategic issue. Millennials are one of the most difficult populations to retain because they have different expectations for workplace culture, career growth, and recognition than prior generations. This paper looks at how Tata Motors, one of India's most important automobile firms, uses recognition programs to improve employee retention among millennials. The paper looks at how formal and informal acknowledgment programs affect millennials' engagement, job happiness, and organizational loyalty. This program encompasses digital appreciation platforms, performance rewards, career development acknowledgements, and peer-to-peer recognition. According to the findings, recognition programs are an important component of Tata Motors' successful retention strategy, as millennials value opportunities for advancement, visibility of accomplishments, and continual feedback. The paper found that well-designed, open, and individualized appreciation programs not only increase employee motivation but also improve their emotional connection to the firm. To better fulfill the expectations of millennials, the paper's conclusion proposes improving Tata Motors' recognition system, which will eventually lead to decreased employee turnover and a more engaged workforce.
